We believe fashion should not only look beautiful on the outside, but also be created beautifully on the inside.
The fashion industry already places a heavy burden on our planet, and we never wanted Slovak Meadows to contribute to that in a careless or irresponsible way.
For us, sustainability means creating thoughtfully, slowing down, and respecting every step of the process, from the very first sketch to the final package arriving at your door. We want to create pieces that feel meaningful, timeless, and made with intention rather than excess.
Sustainability is not only about choosing natural fabrics.
Even the most beautiful and ecological materials lose their value if we do not think carefully about how they are used. That is why we pay close attention to every detail, including how our patterns are arranged on fabric in order to create as little waste as possible.
Every step in our process is guided by love for nature, respect for craftsmanship, and appreciation for the materials we work with. We know we are not perfect, and we are constantly learning and improving, but creating more consciously will always remain at the heart of our brand.

We Sew Locally
Slovak Meadows is a European brand, and our linen is sourced from Europe as well, specifically from Lithuania, which means it does not travel across the world before reaching us.
Every piece is designed and sewn here in Slovakia, either in my own studio or by the two local seamstresses who help us with production and work just a few minutes away from us. Keeping our production close to home allows us to stay deeply connected to every garment we create and ensures that each piece is made with care and attention.
This also means our garments do not travel thousands of unnecessary kilometers before reaching you. By keeping our production and sourcing within Europe, we are able to reduce excessive transportation and make more mindful choices for the environment throughout the entire process.
By producing in small quantities, we are able to focus on quality over mass production and create pieces that are meant to be loved and worn for years.
How We Minimize Waste
Minimizing waste is something we care deeply about. Even during the pattern-making process, we carefully think about how each pattern will be placed on the fabric in order to create as little waste as possible.
Of course, creating absolutely zero waste is nearly impossible, but we do our best to use every piece of fabric thoughtfully and respectfully.
Larger leftover pieces are often used for lining garments or for sewing test pieces before production. Smaller fabric remnants become pockets for skirts and dresses or are transformed into limited pieces such as headscarves and hair bows. Even the tiniest leftover pieces of fabric are not wasted! We use them to create fabric samples that are included with your orders.
From time to time, larger fabric pieces that we no longer need are also donated to local schools, where children can continue creating with them and give the materials a new life.
To us, it is a beautiful process that reminds us to truly value the fabric that has already been produced. We never want to treat materials as disposable or waste something that still holds beauty and purpose.

Our Packaging
We also try to minimize waste when packaging your orders. We use cardboard boxes made from recycled paper and avoid unnecessary fillers or excessive packaging materials.
Plastic is used only where it is truly necessary — mainly to help protect your package during its journey to you. At the moment, this protective layer is the only plastic element in our packaging process.
This is definitely an area where we hope to improve further in the future, and we continue searching for better alternatives that would allow us to remove this last plastic piece entirely.
We believe that even small conscious choices can make a difference when made consistently and with care.
